About Nūvai

We want to contribute to the next step in precision therapy — therapy where treatment is shaped around you, not a template. Our work unites science, clinical experience and human presence. Always in line with current guidelines and regulations.

Therapy beyond the template

Some treatments in healthcare can be constrained by systems and models designed to fit everyone. At Nūvai we want to make more treatment options that have already shown benefit available in an evidence-based and ethical way.

Our combined experience is that psychotherapy with carefully selected additions can support people in finding new ways forward and creating lasting change in their mental health.

Our Clinic in Hyllie, Malmö

Mental health across borders

Together with leading researchers and specialist clinics in Europe

This collaboration makes it possible for us to offer certain treatments, for example with psilocybin, in a legal and responsible way, while also drawing on specialist expertise and ensuring continuity of care across national borders.

Care always remains legal, safe for the individual and coordinated with the client and their family, from preparation to integration and follow-up.

For care providers and referrers

Are you unable to move forward with a patient or client? We accept referrals from other care providers and are happy to discuss collaboration. A referral is never required — you or your patient can always apply directly.

Answers to our most common questions

Is ketamine treatment legal in Sweden? Yes, ketamine treatment is legal in Sweden when prescribed by a licensed physician. Ketamine has been used medically for over 50 years and is an approved medicine. At Nūvai the treatment is administered under controlled conditions by qualified medical staff, in accordance with current regional guidelines.

What does the treatment cost? Nūvai's goal is that precision therapy, with or without treatment additions, should be accessible to everyone who needs it. Today the treatment is paid for privately, but we are working towards being able to cover all or part of it through private insurers or health insurance (within the high-cost protection scheme) in the future. The cost varies depending on the treatment plan and individual needs. A digital screening call costs SEK 2,500. Ketamine-assisted therapy starts from 33,000 kr. We also offer the option to pay in instalments via Klarna.

How many sessions are needed? The number of sessions depends on the type of treatment, your needs and how you respond to it. The plan is followed up and adjusted continuously together with your therapist. For ketamine-assisted precision psychotherapy the model is inspired by international protocols where ketamine is usually given as a series of six infusions over about four weeks. Psilocybin-assisted therapy takes place abroad and usually involves 1–2 dosing sessions over a week, with time for local preparation and integration. Breathwork as a treatment addition is usually provided twice a week for four weeks, either at the clinic or online.

Can I continue with my current medication? In most cases you can continue with your existing medication, but this is assessed individually by our physicians who are specialists in psychiatry and anaesthesia. Some medicines may need to be adjusted ahead of treatment, and sometimes it is desirable to taper off or change them afterwards.

Can I be referred by my doctor or psychologist? Absolutely. We accept referrals from other care providers and they can contact us directly by email at info@nuvai.se. You are also welcome to apply for an assessment yourself — a referral is not a requirement to begin treatment with us.
