Baltmeri

A constructed language for the Baltic Sea, derived by algorithm from its nine shore languages, with translator and paper.
Baltmeri is a constructed language in which every word is decided by a fixed procedure applied to the nine languages around the Baltic Sea, voting as four language families with ties broken by distance from Visby. The project, by Martin Källström and Belinda Retourné, comprises the founding Manual, a TypeScript engine, a public translator that shows the derivation behind each word, and a paper.

What was built
- Deterministic engine that reproduces 28 of the Manual's 58 lexical decrees from the rules alone
- A 153-word seed lexicon; click any word to see the nine source forms, the winning family and the tie-break
- A language model only analyses the input sentence; the engine produces every Baltmeri word
