[00:00:00] Speaker A: This is Brad Linder with Liliputing, and this is a Narrative Clip 2, which is the second generation of a lifelogging camera. It's a small camera that you can wear, clip to your clothing, or just about anywhere else, and it takes photographs about every 30 seconds throughout your day, and you can upload them to share them, to review them, to do other things. This is the second generation model. The first one launched in 2014. Tell me, who are you and what's

[00:00:25] Speaker A: new with this second generation?

[00:00:27] Speaker B: My name is Oskar Kalmaru. I'm one of the co-founders of Narrative, and the new The thing with Narrative Clip 2 is that we have made some significant improvements to the image quality. There's an 8-megapixel sensor instead of the 5 megapixels in the previous one. The mount is now flexible, so you can replace the mount in it to improve the wearability of it. So no matter what type of clothing you wear, you can

[00:00:52] Speaker B: always keep it with you. And we also introduced wireless connectivity in the form of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

[00:01:00] Speaker A: Why would somebody want to wear something around their neck that takes a picture every 30 seconds? But what can you do with it?

[00:01:05] Speaker B: Well, it's all about your life. It's about documenting your life, about what you do, about doing the things you love to do with the people you love to spend time with, and those moments that so easily go away because you forget to take photos of them, and you still want to capture them. So this is a way to stay in that moment and still capture it for later.

[00:01:25] Speaker A: And so this is the second model. It's designed to be a little bit easier to use, to take somewhat better pictures. What have you learned in the year since you launched the first one that's helped inform what you're doing now? Yes, we have.

[00:01:35] Speaker B: We have users now from all over the world, thousands of users from all continents using it in all sorts of ways, for travel, for family occasions. And we learned that it's much more than just a lifelogging camera. We set out to be a lifelogging camera, but people use it for more than that. So we wanted now to acknowledge that and add things that help you use it for a wider range of occasions.

[00:01:59] Speaker A: Like what?

[00:02:00] Speaker B: Like when you're out doing more activity type of activities, different sports. Right. Running or bicycling or those type of things. And for clothes that are not just t-shirts that is easily wearing, but maybe in colder climates, like in Sweden where we come from, we have thick jackets in winter and you need a special type of mount to be able to wear a camera in that climate.

[00:02:26] Speaker A: And if you're wearing a camera around your neck or on your jacket, it's going to take a lot of pictures. Not all of them are going to be well framed. Not all of them are going to be— some of them will be with the person's back of the head in front of you. So how do you sort of filter through this amount of raw data? You can capture hundreds, thousands of pictures. How do you find the good ones?

[00:02:43] Speaker B: So we want you to be able to wear it without thinking about it and thinking that it doesn't matter if some photos aren't objectively good because our software takes care of that and filters away those photos that you normally would see as bad photos, like colored or out of focus and so on. So we have this image analysis algorithm that helps you do that, and that's something we keep improving on all the time. So you can just

[00:03:08] Speaker B: be in the moment, take all these photos, and then afterwards in your mobile app Or on the web to see the best stuff from the moments.

[00:03:15] Speaker A: And tell me again, how much is this going to cost? When will it launch?

[00:03:20] Speaker B: So the Narrative Clip 2 is going to be $199, and we're launching later in 2015.

[00:03:27] Speaker A: And unlike the original model, which you had to sign up for a premium subscription service, how's the subscription going to change?

[00:03:35] Speaker B: Yes, we're changing that as well. So we moved away from that to a freemium model where you get the full package right from the get-go. So the day you get the Narrative Clip 2, you can start using it in the full product, and then you can upgrade yourself to a premium model later on if you feel like it.

[00:03:51] Speaker A: And what does the premium feature set include? What else do you get if you pay extra?

[00:03:55] Speaker B: So we'll announce that more specifically later, what's going to be in the free and the premium. But the idea is to have as much in the premium that you get the full experience of Narrative Clip.

[00:04:06] Speaker A: And the experience involves being able to upload and share your pictures and using the software to find the good ones and so forth, right?

[00:04:12] Speaker B: Exactly. The software is such an integrated part of the product, so we don't want We wanted to be able to, to use that from the beginning.

[00:04:19] Speaker A: Thank you very much. Thank you.
