Participatory Art
Participatory Art is a Stockholm studio for participatory immersive storytelling, founded by Martin Källström (technology and AI) together with Mathias Gullbrandson (creative and production). It designs what an audience does rather than what it watches: scenography, software, live performance, AI and audience design are made as one thing, with a system underneath every world participatory.art ↗.
What the studio offers
The studio describes three doors into the work participatory.art ↗:
- Launch. Pre-launch alternate-reality games, activations and live seasons around games, film and streaming.
- The studio. Original participatory works built together with theatres, museums and institutions.
- Transformation. The same worldbuilding craft applied to leadership, organisations and cities.
Its selected work includes Elysium, the immersive theatre production staged in Stockholm in 2025, and earlier projects from the founders' careers, including Narrative and Heywear.
Martin's part
Martin leads technology and AI at the studio. He wrote most of the code for the studio's website and its deployment: a hand-written site with a shared design system, a contact Worker that validates, rate-limits and emails enquiries, and a brand page with downloadable wordmarks. See the website case study.
